Really? Granted, I have never compared the numbers; but I find it hard to believe that LCD panels use more power than CRT's. Just looking at computer monitors, LCD's use significantly less power than CRT's. Are televisions really any different?
I know it doesn't say it on Xbox.com, but the "Blue Dragon" box has the "1080p logo on the back" if my memory is true.
I don't know if that's natively rendered at 1080p, but I know that a lot of the animations are a little choppy when running at 1080p ...
Anyway, regardless of whether it is rendered natively, the headline on this one isn't accurate ... Or my memory isn't accurate. Oh well. Who really cares?
I'm sure nobody paid them to ask that all PS3's be impounded and destroyed. Microsoft probably wouldn't. Why would they? It's fun enough just to sit back and watch. Stupid people do stupid things for free.
As for the patent, I don't think it applies to the PS3. If I read it correctly, it specifically refers to devices with parallel processors utilizing shared memory. PS3 has separate memory for each processor, so the patent wouldn't apply. At least, that's my understanding. Ins...
So is the an American version of Guyver? I haven't got my issue of GI yet.
They probably will settle out of court. Often, victims/lawyers do not approach companies with potential litigation. They file it and serve the company. Then they enter into negotiations after the companies have had a chance to see the suit.
Hopefully they file an ammendment to the suit before Microsoft has it thrown out.
Microsoft will attempt to show that they weren't neglegent and took appropriate measures to ensure the safety of consumers once a problem with the power supply was identified. Microsoft will also call into question the cause of the fire. The family will have to produce evidence that suggests that the Xbox did cause the fire, and Microsoft will find any doubt in that evidence and exploit it. Ultim...
Touch screen getting yellow-tinged. That couldn't be caused by the oils from their grimey hands, could it?
Part of me wants to say "it's just gaming, so who cares if someone is cheating?" Then the other part of me--the one who didn't get anything from the Old Spice Challenge because the good prizes were gone in just a couple days--says "to heck with the cheaters! It's just gaming, and they can start over again."
Now that achievements can be tied to real-world prizes and merchandise, it is absolutely necessary to do what they can to prevent gamerscore farming. It ...
I'll believe it when others have seen it!
(Seriously, do you think I'd see it unless my friend who goes to see every crap film has seen it first, and says that it was the best movie of the year? ... He has low standards.)
40 million sold, and at least 2 stolen. :-(
I really liked my DS light too ... I'm not going to throw away any more on a DS though. Buying a DS is like buying a Honda Civic in the '90's. Sure, it's great and all; but people will keep stealing your stuff!
I think it was the April issue, but you're right. I knew that it seemed familiar. I read this article more than a month ago.
You laugh at the comment "consumer's choosing HD-DVD", but why? The fact is, sales numbers aren't as telling as you think they are. Blu-ray discs are selling better (most of the time). There are more Blu-ray discs being sold than HD-DVD discs. That's true.
But what is the attach rate per player? You've got a few million Blu-Ray players out there (PS3, stand-alone movie players, and PC drives). HD-DVD players have less penetration at this point (100,000 stand alone pla...
Vista will take over eventually. Can't stop that. There aren't many problems with Vista other than with older computers and games.
That said, what really takes the cake on this article is the claim that Microsoft is selling Vista with Office 2007 in developing countries, indicating its a failure. Microsoft is NOT selling Vista for $3. That's Windows XP in that package. And the decision to sell XP rather than Vista isn't an indication of Vista's failure either. Rather, it is an ...
Wow! That's really kind of ... Sad. I expected PS3 support to pick up a bit more in Q2. Better than Xbox 360's Q2 after launch; but still disappointing. Only one exclusive game (MLB 07 The Show) and the rest are multi-platform or previously released titles (Ninja Gaiden Sigma is just an upgrade of Ninja Gaiden Black, afterall). Sony's big strength has always beein its exclusives. With third-party exclusives support failing, I hope to see more "triple-A" first-party titles in the fut...
... Not the game. I'm sure it will be; but that isn't what is impressing me about this "news".
I just think it is truly awesome that N4G can reference a blog posting that references another N4G post (which itself references GamePro) and still think it's post-worthy.
That's like CNN reporting on an MSNBC story about CNN reporting something.

I think that Google makes a good pop-up/ad blocker ... Its free too. Well, you have to give up your privacy; but other than that, it's free. But, who cares about privacy anyway?

... Most Japanese companies don't let their regional subsidiaries make any of these types of decisions. The new CEO may give his input; but he's not in a position to make decisions about what platforms games will be developed for.
Remember, the company is Japanese. The biggest fanbase for the FF franchise is in Japan as well (though the US does have a considerable FF fanbase). So they're going to make the platform decision based on the Japanese market; not the US market.
"Cum" is a latin word meaning "with."
"Cum laude" is "with honors".
"Dating-cum-porn" is "dating with porn".
First of all, this rumor is months old. In fact, the title "World of Warcraft: Azeroth Adventures" attached to this rumor harkens back to the source.
The title was never going to be "World or Warcraft: Azeroth Adventures". When the rumor started, the author of the column--I don't remember of that was Quartermann, someone at OXM, or someone for another magazine or web site--picked "Azeroth Adventures" just to illustrate that it would probably be its...
The reason for the sudden up-spike in sales of the 80GB model is the announcement that Sony is removing all backwards compatibility from PlayStation 3's.
Many consumers have dozens (and in some cases, hundreds) of PSone and PS2 games. They are still Sony fans, but they've held off on the PS3 because of its price and the availablility of great new titles for the PS2. They always planned on getting a PS3 eventually ...
Well, now they hear from Sony that the PSOne a...
